Tell us about the move.
Where from, where to, how many bedrooms and roughly when. That is enough to start. If you would rather get it all out of the way at once, the full questionnaire asks the things that actually decide the price, and the quote comes back split into lines.
What happens next
A reply from the person who prices it.
Whoever answers your message prices the move and, if you go ahead, books it with an independent removal provider. Mention the stairs now and they are in the quote.
- Tell us roughly what and whereSuburb to suburb, or state to state, and the size of the place. That is enough to work with.
- We come back with a real figureNot a call to arrange a call. A written quote, itemised, and what would change it.
- Nothing is booked until you say soAn enquiry is an enquiry. You are not committing to anything by sending one.
Or get it all out of the way
Answer the awkward questions now.
Stairs, access, dates, how much there really is. It is the part most companies leave until the truck is at the kerb, and it is the reason quotes move on the day.

It needs JavaScript, and something is stopping it. Rather than have you answer seven questions that would go nowhere, here are the two routes that work without it.

Straight answers
Before you write to us.
When will I hear back?
In business hours, usually the same day. Anything sent over a weekend is answered on the Monday. If you are moving between December and January, when most leases turn over, write early rather than late. That is the busiest and dearest stretch of the year.
Who will I be dealing with?
Before the move, one of our team: they price it, send the quote and make the booking. The move itself is done by an independent removal provider, who gets your answers about the access before the day, so the crew already know the floor level, whether the lift has been booked and where they can park.
Do you need my exact address to give me a price?
No. Suburb and postcode at each end is plenty to price it. What matters more is how close the truck can get to the door. Carry distance is the most common reason a price changes on the day, and it is the one thing nobody thinks to mention.
How and when do I pay?
In two parts. A deposit, taken over the phone, confirms your booking and allows us to arrange your move. The balance is paid to the removal provider on the day, once the job is done. Nothing is paid through this website and there is no card field anywhere on it: if you are ever asked to enter card details on a page claiming to be us, it is not us.
What if my dates are not settled?
That is normal, and on an interstate move it works in your favour. Give us the rough window. Most leases end in the last few days of the month and everybody wants the Saturday. A Tuesday mid-month is a different price for the same work.
Where we work
Australia-wide, and what that means for the price.
We arrange moves right across the country. What decides your price is not a pin on a map, it is how many trucks run your route in a week and which way they are already going.
- Capital citiesSydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra, Hobart and Darwin, for local moves and interstate at either end.
- The east coast triangleSydney, Melbourne and Brisbane carry the most traffic in the country, which is why rates between them are generally more competitive.
- The long haulsPerth and Darwin run far fewer trucks in a week, so they are dearer per cubic metre and want more notice. Book them in weeks, not days.
- TasmaniaRoad plus the Bass Strait crossing, so timings depend on the sailing as much as the drive.
- Regional and countryOften a backload, which means the truck is already going that way. Fit your dates around the run rather than the other way round and it costs a good deal less.

Two minutes of preparation
What to have handy.
None of it is essential. We can work with rough answers. But having these ready turns a twenty-minute conversation into a five-minute one, and gets you a tighter number.
- Both suburbs and postcodesStreet addresses are only needed once a job is booked, not to price it.
- The size of the placeBedrooms, and whether it is a house or a unit. A three-bedroom house usually comes out near 30 cubic metres, and the cartons alone are five to ten of that.
- Access at both endsFloor level, lift or stairs, and where a truck can actually stop. If there is a lift, most strata buildings want it booked through the body corporate a few days ahead.
- Your date, or your windowA window is genuinely worth money on an interstate move. If you have one, say so.
- Anything unusualA piano, a safe, a slate pool table. None of it is a problem. It just changes how many people are on the job and the order things go on the truck.

The driveway is the worst place to discuss money.
Answer the questions once. It comes back in writing, split into lines, and the person who priced it rings to go through it with you.
