What we are

Moving, made better.

We coordinate moves across Australia with a focus on the things that matter most: clear communication, careful planning, reliable service, and knowing exactly what to expect.

From your first conversation with us, we take the time to understand your move properly. Where you are going, what you are taking, the access at each property, and the details that make the difference between a smooth move and a stressful one.

Once your move is booked, we coordinate it with the independent removal provider who carries it out.

We believe customers deserve more than a truck and a time slot. They deserve a booking that is organised from the beginning: straightforward pricing, properly documented details and clear expectations.

What to expect

What working with us looks like.

Six things that matter on every job, whether you are moving a one-bedroom unit across the suburb or a house across the country.

  • Clear pricing from the startA single number over the phone tells you nothing you can check. Your quote arrives written down and split into lines, so you know what the stairs cost, what the packing costs and what your date costs. Then somebody goes through it with you.
  • Your move, properly plannedWe do not treat every move as though it were the same one. Inventory, access, distance and anything out of the ordinary are worked out at the start, so the plan holds on the day.
  • Details on recordWhat you tell us is written down, not left to memory. Better Moving coordinates your booking and keeps the details of your move in one place.
  • The right team for the jobEvery move has different requirements. We coordinate with independent removal providers based on the location, the size and the needs of your move.
  • Know what you are bookingBefore anything is confirmed we make the important details clear: what is being moved, the service required, and what to expect on the day.
  • Support beyond the bookingOur job does not end when the booking is made. We are here for changes, questions and coordination right up to your move.

How we would rather work

Three things we decided at the start.

Ask first

The awkward questions, early.

The stairs, the carry to the kerb, whether the lift needs booking, how many cartons there really are. Most forms skip all of it and find out on the day. We would rather have the awkward conversation while you can still walk away from it.

Explain the pricing

Told, not discovered.

Weekends cost more. So does the run from mid December to mid January, when most leases end and trucks are booked out weeks ahead. Stairs, long carries and minimum hours are normal too. We put the lot in front of you while you are deciding, not at the end of a phone call.

Say what it is

A number you can check.

Every quote is worked out against our own rate card and comes back split into lines. A price given over the phone is not a quote. It is a guess. Your written quote is confirmed on a short call, because a form cannot see a staircase.

Not ready for the full questionnaire

Leave three details.

The person who calls you back is the person who prices your move, not a call centre passing you from one person to another. Submitting this form does not book your move.

The legal bit

Who takes your booking.

  • Registered nameBetter Moving Pty Ltd
  • ABN38 700 878 879
  • Entity typeAustralian private company
  • Registered30 July 2026, New South Wales

Those details can be checked against the Australian Business Register, which is rather the point of listing them.

Better Moving coordinates your booking and works with independent removal providers to perform the physical removal services.

Plan it properly. Communicate clearly. Make moving easier.

The driveway is the worst place to discuss money.

Answer the questions once. It comes back in writing, split into lines, and the person who priced it rings to go through it with you.

Step 1 of 7
What kind of move is it?

These two types of moves are priced differently. Local is charged by the hour, interstate by the cubic metres your things take up on the truck.

Where are you moving?

The suburb is enough. The postcode and the state fill themselves in.

Moving from

Moving to

Local work is charged by the hour, and the rate follows the city the truck and crew come out of. Rates in Melbourne and Sydney are higher than in Brisbane.

How big is the place you’re leaving?

Property type matters as much as the number of bedrooms. A three-bedroom house is usually around 30 cubic metres, a three-bedroom unit closer to 24.

Bedrooms

How full is it?

Boxes alone are usually five to ten cubic metres, the part almost everyone underestimates.

Anything else to clear? Select all that apply.

How easy is access at each end?

A third floor with a lift is a different job from a third floor without one, and the lift usually has to be booked with the body corporate days ahead. We go through parking and the walk from the truck when we ring.

When are you moving?

Weekends cost more, and so does the stretch from the week before Christmas to mid-January, when most leases end. If your dates can shift by a few days, your move may fit on a truck already running your route.

How fixed is that date?

Anything else we should plan for?

Packing can be as much or as little as you want. A piano, a pool table or a safe is a job of its own: different gear, more hands, and its own price on top.

Special items

Where should we send your quote?

That is the hard part done. Everything you have answered goes to the person who prices the move, and they will have read all of it before they ring. The quote comes back in writing, split into lines. It is based on your answers, so it can change if the details on the day are materially different.

Thanks, we’ve got that.
